Chief Schappa passed away after a brief battle with cancer on June 24th, 2026 at the age of 74. We will update this obituary when more information is received.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Charles C. Young Funeral Home at 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery in Ross Township

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home at 2418 N. Sherman Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
