Officer Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Suiter (1966-2025)

Cindy was born on September 4, 1966 in Louisville to dysfunctional parents, Anthony Suter and Cheryl Carver. After a succession of temporary and foster homes, she settled in with the Roderick family in Cincinnati. Cindy attended Seton High School and graduated in 1985. She also attended the University of Cincinnati, majored in Justice System Technology, and was a member of their Cross Country Team.

From August 1991 to January 1997, Cindy worked in loss prevention at Lazarus Department Store.

Cindy joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in January 1997 as a Corrections Officer. She completed the Corrections Academy in December.

On January 12, 1998, Officer Suiter joined the Cincinnati Police Division in its 85th Recruit Clas. She was promoted to Police Officer on June 14, 1998, issued Badge 516, and assigned to District 1 (310 Ezzard Charles Drive). Officer Suiter transferred to the Mounted Unit. She left the Mounted Unit on June 1, 2008. On September 20, 2009, she transferred to District 2 (3295 Erie Avenue). On October 15, 2011, Officer Suiter took a sabbatical to deal with a medical issue. She returned to the Division on July 20, 2014, was reissued Badge 516 and reassigned to District 1. On July 30, 2017, she transferred to the Central Business District Desk. Officer Suiter resigned on December 17, 2020 with ten years of service to the county and community.

Officer Suiter died on June 17, 2025.

Officer Suiter is survived by her foster sister, Deborah Roderick.
