Bill was born June 16, 1936 to William A. and Marie (Haarmeyer) Roeller. He attended Fairview Grade School and Hughes High School, graduating in 1954. He also attended the University of Cincinnati Night School taking Economics and Accounting.

From 1954 to 1960, Bill worked for the Kroger Company keeping records of raw materials used for making store fixtures. He worked in similar position from 1960 to 1966 at the Clopay Corporation and from September 1966 to August 1990 at the American Building Components until it closed. From April 1991 to January 1993, he worked for Hamilton County Child Support.

During 1963, he also joined the United States Army Reserves, during which he served six months active duty. Corporal Roeller was honorably discharged in 1967.

In 1993, he took a Civil Service examination for Inventory Supply Clerk. Having topped the list, he joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on February 11, 1993 as the Inventory Supply Clerk for the Corrections Division.  Within five months, his supervisors were commending him for his capabilities and ability to handle the stress of the position. By all accounts, once ensconced in the position, he rarely, if ever, needed supervision to complete his tasks. Clerk Roeller retired on June 30, 2009 and Sheriff Simon Leis wrote him a final commendation for his dedicated and loyal service.

Clerk Roeller died August 8, 2023 at the age of 87.

Visitation was held August 12, 2023 at Rebold Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
