Kathleen Meg (Lindeman) Dove
(1953-2023)

Kathy was born February 9, 1953, in Cincinnati to Ott R. and Hester M. (Stieringer) Lindeman. She attended Western Hills High School, graduating in 1971; then Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

We know little about her for the next twenty years. During January 1991, she went to work as the Financial Aid Director at Patriot Education in Monroe. In October 1991, she went to work for Allstate/Sentry Insurance Companies. Simultaneously, for four months, she worked at H&R Block.

Kathy joined the Cincinnati Police Division on June 7, 1992, as an Assistant Operator/Dispatcher. On June 6, 1993, she was promoted to Operator/Dispatcher. On October 3, 1999, she transferred to Budget and Evaluation Officer as an Administrative Technician and procurement specialist. We believe she served Cincinnati thereafter for a number of years.

During 2020, she found that she needed a kidney transplant. After October 2021, her friend, Ellen Wright, donated one of her kidneys.

Operator/Dispatcher Dove died on October 11, 2023 at the age of 70.

She is survived by her children, Natalie (Blake) Dehler and Garrett Robert Dove; sister, Cindy Swillinger; niece, Blair Sonntag; nephew, Samuel Metzger; and special friend and kidney donor, Ellen Wright.

The Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society was made aware of her death on February 9, 2024. To our knowledge, there were no funeral arrangements nor memorials published.
