
Robert was born on May 12, 1933, the second child born to Harry R. and Ethel A. (Fancher) Wisby of Franklin Township in Clermont County.
Robert joined the United States Navy in July 1950. After basic training, he was assigned to the USS Robert H McCard, a Gearing-class Destroyer which operated out of Newport Rhode Island. He was honorably discharged in January 1954.
Robert worked at a Ford plant and the Carpenters Union on commercial and residential buildings.
He also served as a Clermont County Deputy Sheriff and volunteered for the life squad.
Deputy Wisby died at home on April 25, 2026 at the age of 92.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Kenneth A Wisby, Carroll H. Wisby, Paul F Wisby, and son, Donald L Wisby. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marylan G (Womacks) Wisby; children, Robert S (Genia) Wisby, Gina S (Bill) Custer, and Mari “Beth” (Scott) Dunn; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra K (Bill) Lambert.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Homes at 315 West Plane Street in Bethel. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Internment, with military honors, will follow at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown
