Dale was born June 8, 1972 to James and Ann Woods. He attended Colerain Junior High School and Colerain High School, played on the drumline in the Colerain Middle School and Colerain High Schools Marching Bands. He also participated in the Colerain Township Fire Explorers Program which, based on his life’s accomplishments, gave him or augmented within him a burning desire to serve his fellow man.
He graduated high school during June 1990 and three months later began serving in the Colerain Township Fire Department. Since then he served Colerain Township, North College Hill, Lincoln Heights, or all of Hamilton County as a dispatcher, dog warden, firefighter, or police officer; sometimes three at a time.
