Deputy Sheriff Richard Mark Weissmann
(1957-2024)

 

 

Rick was born July 22, 1957 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Weissmann. He attended Loveland High School, graduating in 1975.

From 1976 to 1977 he attended the University of Cincinnati and majored in Law Enforcement Technology. In 1978, he attended Dayton University to attain paramedic certification. While attending college, he worked from December 1977 to 1979 for Professional Ambulance as an attendant. From June to September 1979, he worked as a laboratory assistant at Bethesda North Hospital. From September 1979 to January 1980, he worked as a paramedic for the Lathrop Company in Toledo, Ohio.

Rick joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as a Jail Paramedic on January 17, 1980. He completed the Norwood Police Academy in 1982 and thereafter requested reassignment to the Road Patrol. On July 11, 1985, he was promoted to Patrol Officer. Deputy Weissmann retired with a disability on July 1, 1996 with 16½ years of service and numerous letters of appreciation and/or commendations.

Deputy Weissmann was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and died on August 9, 2024.
