Police Officer Hal George Kresser
(1949-2024)

 

 

Hal was born May 12, 1949. He enlisted in the United States Navy in March 1968.

He joined the Santa Rosa County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office in 1970 as a Deputy Sheriff. He served there until 1971. 

In June 1972, he joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as a Special Deputy and served until October 1978. 

 Deputy Kresser joined the Colerain Township Police Department on April 14, 1979 as a part-time Constable. He was promoted to part-time Police Officer on May 10, 1980 and served as such until the department was disbanded on January 21, 1986.

On July 22, 1981, he was additionally appointed as a Police Officer in the Union (now West Chester) Township Police Department where he served until at least January 1987. Officer Kresser retired on December 21, 1991 due to disability from an on-duty injury with 20 years of law enforcement service. 

By 1997, he opened the Hal Kresser Insurance Agency in Hamilton, Ohio.

Officer Kresser died on October 28, 2024.

He was predeceased by his wife of almost 15 years, Anna Josephine (Schare) Kresser. We believe he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise M. (Ferrari) Kresser, children, Susan Kresser, Christina Lynn Kresser, Terrence Robert (Chyna) Kresser, and Olivia Marie Kresser; 20 grandchildren; three stepchildren; and brother, Jimmie Kresser.

A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Mt. Healthy. Entombment will be held 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Arlington Memorial Gardens Chapel. A reception will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
