Lieutenant Hinton Humphrey, Jr.
(1968-2023)

 

Hinton was born December 23, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky to Hilton and Brenda (Cornett) Humphrey, Sr.

Hilton joined the United States Air Force and served as an air cargo specialist. He was honorably discharged.

He then joined the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer.

Corrections Officer Humphrey then joined the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office about 2001 as a Corrections Officer. He worked in the Detention Center and was promoted through the ranks to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Humphrey retired in 2022 with 21 years of service to Kenton County.

He returned to the Detention Center as an Accreditation Manager.

Lieutenant Hinton died on Saturday, December 17, 2023, at the age of 54.

Lieutenant Humphrey is survived by wife, Laura (Vice) Humphrey; children, Sidnee Stamper, Hailee Stamper, Annelise Humphrey, and Elliana Humphrey; parents, Hilton Humphrey, Sr. and Brenda Atchison; grandparents, Sam Humphrey, Mary Humphrey, Pauline Fisher, and Charles Edward Atchison, Sr.; and siblings, Lashonna Lee Humphrey and Jarvis Humphrey.

Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Newcomer Funeral Home at 4350 Dixie Highway in Erlanger.
