Police Officer Zachary Daniel McMullen (2004-2026)

Zachary was born on July 18, 2004, in Cincinnati to Dan and Tara (Mangold) McMullen. He attended Lakota East High School and Butler Tech and earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Owens Community College where he also played baseball.

After high school, Zach joined the Army National Guard and completed rigorous training at Fort Benning, Georgia, the premier U.S. Army installation known as the “Home of the Infantry,”

Zach joined the West Chester Township Police Department in September 2025 as a Police Officer.

Officer McMullen was still serving the country and township when he died on June 16, 2026, at the age of 21.

He was predeceased by his brother, Joshua McMullen. Officer McMullen is survived by his parents; siblings; Maggie (finance Preston Dorsey) McMullen and Matthew McMullen; and grandmother, Vicki Mangold.

A visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held on June 18 and 19, 2026, respectively.

The Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society was unaware of his passing before the rites and burial.
