Officer Alex Nicholas Maddocks
(1993-2025)

 

 

Alex was born on March 22,1993, in Ridgecrest, California and raised by his grandparents, Margaret and Robert Maddocks. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice from the ITT Technical Institute in 2013.

Alex joined UC Health as a Security Officer II, on June 18th, 2018, and served at the UC Medical Center main campus. He was promoted to Police Officer September 5th, 2021.

He left to pursue an opportunity with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and returned in March 2023.

He served part time as a Great Parks of Hamilton County Ranger.

Officer Maddox developed medical issues which degenerated into dire prognosis. He was put on artificial life support. His medical staff removed the support on May 22, 2025 and he died at 5 p.m. at the age of 31.

A visitation and celebration of life were held on June 14, 2025 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Emergency Preparedness Center.

Officer Maddocks is survived by his sister, Desiree Rymer; her mother, Laurie Rymer; in-laws, Angela, Trevor, TJ, and Tiffany Abdon (Ryan, Myles, and Cooper), Mark, Angel, and Hannah Hawkins; and friends.
