Police Officer Charles K. “Chuck” Weinschelbaum (1946-2026)

Chuck was born on May 12, 1946. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1964.

Chuck joined the United States Air Force on November 2, 1965. His basic training was at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He went on to serve as an Air Patrolman in Chanute AFB, Illinois, Da Nang, Vietnam, and Langley AFB, Virginia. Sergeant Weinschelbaum was honorably discharged in February 1969.

Chuck joined the Cincinnati Police Division in its 53rd Recruit Class on November 25, 1969. He was promoted to Patrolman on February 2, 1970, issued Badge 647, and assigned to District 4, where he spent his entire career except for five months in District 2. Officer Weinschelbaum retired on April 18, 2007 with 37 years of service and 60 letters of appreciation and/or commendation.

Officer Weinschelbaum died on July 14, 2026 at the age of 80.

He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Lori Powers, and sister, Lucille Rickard Weinschelbaum. Officer Weinschelbaum is survived by his wife, Karol Weinschelbaum, and sister, Irving Weinschelbaum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Weil Kahn Funeral Home at 8350 Cornell Road. An FOP service will be held at noon, followed by a funeral service. Interment follows at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Lupus Foundation Ohio, or SPCA.
