Police Officer Michael William Young
(1950-2026)

 

 

Mike was born on January 9, 1950 in Cincinnati to Frank and Virginia Young.

Michael joined the Montgomery Police Department as a Patrolman before 1974. On December 19, 1989 he was involved in a shootout with two bank robbers and was shot in the chest and arm. His ballistic vest saved his life. Throughout his distinguished career, he was highly regarded by his department for his leadership, professionalism, and distinctive sense of humor. Officer Young retired with 46 years of service

He was also a member of the United Methodist Church.

Officer young died on September 27, 2026, in Mason, at the age of 76.

He is survived by his wife of almost 31 years, Brenda Joyce (Baker) Young, and brothers, Richard Young and Bruce Young.

Friends may begin gathering at Rose Hill Cemetery at 171 Mason Montgomery Road in Mason on Saturday October 10, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati or the Freestore Food Bank.
