Patrolman Robert “Bobby” Eugene Sparks
(1957-2025)

 

 

Bobby was born on April 20, 1957 in Middletown to Victor Sparks and Eunice (Hall) Kosik. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1975.

Bobby Joined the Monroe Police Department on February 17, 1987 as a Patrol Officer. In 2015 he earned a life-saving award following a motorcycle accident. Officer Sparks retired on February 28, 2017 with 30 years and 11 days of service to his community.

Officer Sparks also worked at AK Steel.

Patrolman Sparks died on November 13, 2025 in Monroe at the age of 68.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Sparks. Officer Sparks is survived by his wife of 24 years, Susan (Mueller) Sparks, daughter, Heather (Jeremie) Barker, grandchildren, Jase Barker and Mya (Aaron Blake) Barker; and sister, Cathy Miller.
