Deputy Gary Lee Benight
(1948-2025)

 

 

Gary was born on August 13, 1948 in Cincinnati to Jesse R. and Jacquiline (Schwab) Benight, Jr. He attended Western Hills High School where he participated in the Rifle Club and graduated in 1967.

Gary was a Bailiff for the Hamilton County Municipal Court and a Deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, retiring after eighteen years of service.

Deputy Benight died at his residence on September 19, 2025

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sherry Benight. Deputy Benight is survived by his sons, Jerry Lee (Denise) Benight, Dale Alan (Brittney) Benight, and Garrett Lee Benight; grandchildren, Tiffany Boner, Brandy Benight, Jeremy Benight, Kelly Benight, Brittany Benight, Robert Benight, Zachary Benight, Ryan Benight, and Desiree Lockwood; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jesse W. Benight Sr. and Dianne (Terry) McMullin.

Funeral service and burial were held during the morning of September 26, 2025 at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
