Special Agent in Charge Terrence D. “Terry” Dinan

Terry was born September 28, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio to John Louis and Mary Lucille (Kelly) Dinan.

He joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent.  His assignments included the Philadelphia Field Office in the early 1970s.  He was promoted through the ranks to Special Agent in Charge (SAC) and served as such in the Cincinnati Field Office during most of the 1980s.  Lawrence E. Whalen, Cincinnati Operations Bureau Commander and Police Chief during the 1980s, praised SAC Dinan as “a great man and a good friend to our Police Division.”

In retirement, SAC Dinan made his residence in West Chester.  He passed away peacefully Monday, August 12, 2019 at the age of 81.

He was predeceased by his son, Eric Dinan, and brother, Philip L. Dinan.  SAC Dinan is survived by his wife, Melenie (McMillen) Dinan; children, Jay Dinan, Brent Dinan, and Kurt (Jen) Dinan; daughter-in-law, Kathy Dinan; grandchildren, Rachel (David) Welling, Kelly Dinan, Travis, Kevin Dinan, Brody Dinan, Sam Dinan, Charlie Dinan, and Murphy Dinan; and siblings, Judy, Don, Molly, Martha, Nancy, Rusty, Pat, Joyce, Mark, Linda, and William.

A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road in Mason.  A time for fellowship will immediately follow the prayer service.
