Special Agent Douglas R. Knight (1945-2019)

Special Agent Douglas R. Knight

Doug was born September 17, 1945 to pipefitter Beryl J. and Dorothy (Robison) Knight of Cleves.  He graduated from Taylor High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University.

Doug joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1972 and served in the Miami, Florida Field Office.  Special Agent Knight transferred to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1973; to Detroit, Michigan in 1978; and to Portsmouth, Ohio in 1984.  He finally came home to the Cincinnati Field Office in 1986 where he served as the Drug Task Force and Violent Crimes Coordinator.  Special Agent Knight retired in October 1995 with 23 years of service to his country.

He later taught at the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles near his home in Dearborn County.

Special Agent Knight died on December 11, 2019 in St. Augustine at the age of 74.

He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Janice (Green) Knight (2016).  Special Agent Knight is survived by his sons, Tyler (Winn) Knight and Brian (Melissa) Knight; grandchildren, Robbie Knight, Katie Knight, Jamie Knight, Kyle Knight, and Lexi Knight; and siblings, John Knight and Jo Ann Bradford.

Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Dennis George Funeral Home at 44 S. Miami Avenue in Cleves.  A funeral service will be held there at 10 a.m. on December 21, 2019.

Memorials are requested to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in remembrance of Janice Knight or to Taylor High School Athletics, 401 N. Miami AV, Cleves, OH 45002.
