Sergeant Terry Allen Osborne (1953-2018)
Terry was born December 9, 1953 in Grant County, Kentucky, the last of seven children born to Otis and Ella Mae (Kinman) Osborne. Otis was killed in an industrial accident 79 days later on February 26, 1954.
As a young man, Terry was a volunteer with the Dry Ridge Fire Department. He was also employed by the Grant County Ambulance Service,
During the mid-1970s, he joined the Dry Ridge Police Department as a Police Officer. Officer Osborne joined the Walton Police Department in July 1980. On July 5, 1988 he transferred to the Boone County Police Department. When the Boone County Police Department merged with the Sheriff’s Office, he was appointed as Deputy Sheriff on July 1, 2001. He retired from the Sheriff’s Office as a Detective on September 28, 2001. The, he was appointed to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and retired from there as a Sergeant with more than four decades over service to counties and communities.
Sergeant Osborne died on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Dry Ridge at the age of 64.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Leroy Osborne, Phillip Osborne, Donald Osborne and Doris Osborne. Sergeant Osborne is survived by his children, David (Terissa) Osborne and Jennine Mae Osborne; grandchildren, Erika (J.P.) Osborne Niemeier, Tyler Osborne, Courtney Jo Nagy, Coleton Nagy, Carissa Osborne, Christopher Osborne, and Carley Osborne; great-grandchild, Tayden Niemeier; and sisters, Norma Hedges and Peggy Alexander.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. in Friday (tonight), November 16, 2018 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
