Police Officer Gregory Coleman
Greg was born October 1, 1953. He attended Withrow High School and graduated in 1972.
From 1975 to 1976, he worked as a security guard for Wackenhut. During 1976 he worked for William Powell Valve and KECO. For a few years he worked at Metrodeck as a Press Brake Operator.
Greg joined the Cincinnati Police Division on May 11, 1980 as a Police Recruit. On November 23, 1980, he was promoted to Police Officer, issued Badge 543, and assigned to District 1. During February 1982, he transferred to District 4. After seven years he transferred to District 2. Even in the twilight of his career, he was considered by his supervisors to be one of their finest beat officers. Officer Coleman retired June 8, 2013 with 33 years of service and 31 letters of appreciation and/or commendation.
Officer Coleman contract bladder cancer and passed away at 7:15 p.m. on September 8, 2019 at Drake Hospital.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Coleman, Rosser.
