Officer Paul Eugene Wells
Paul was born May 30, 1938 in Guildford, Indiana to Walter Cleveland and Mildred (Jameson) Wells. He grew up in Guilford, Indiana in a family with four other siblings; two brothers and two sisters.
He worked at Aikens Trucking and Alton Boxboard Company.
Paul joined the Aurora Police Department as a Police Officer.
Officer Wells continued to work as a truck driver even after his police career and until his health caused him to retire.
He was a commander in the Color Guard, a member of The Sons of the American Legion, and past member of the Lawrenceburg Eagles.
Officer Wells died June 12, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky at 81 years of age.
He was predeceased by his wife of almost thirty years, Lois A. (Schultz) Wells; siblings, Harold K. Wells, Donald Wells, Phyllis J. Wells, and Juanita M. Wells; and a step daughter-in-law, Vicki McMurray. Officer Wells is survived by his son, Donald Wells; stepson, Wayne McMurray; grandchildren, Jared Wells, Elisa McMurray (Rob) Davis, and Brian (Stacey Crowley) McMurray; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Davis and Lincoln Davis.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 with Pastor Tim Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospice or the Highpoint Health Foundation Cancer Center.
