Police Officer K. Robert “Bob” Neely

Bob was born October 18, 1955 to Ken Neely and Mary F. Neely.
Bob joined the Colerain Township Police Department on March 16,1983 after graduating from the Great Oaks Police Academy on January 31, 1983. In January 1986, Colerain Township trustees voted to disband the 34-member police department. Officer Neely was one of four officer who were kept on patrol. The residents passed a levy and in 1987 and began rebuilding a police departmeønt. In 1988, he was appointed the Department’s Procurement and Maintenance Officer. In 1991, the Chief advised that he also assisted in administrative matters. In 1996, he was assessed as one of the most knowledgeable people on the department. During his career, he also served as Officer in Charge, Field Training Officer, and Terminal Agency Coordinator. Officer Neely was medically retired on December 1, 2002 with almost 20 years of service with numerous letters of appreciation and/or commendation.
He married in 2005 and moved to Greendale, Indiana.
Officer Neely died on August 17, 2024.
We only know of one survivor, his son, Justin Neely.
To honor Officer Neely’s wishes, there were no funeral services.
