Administrative Technician Donna Marie Bowling (1961-2023)

Donna was born November 25, 1961 in Cincinnati to Richard and Judy (Mueller) Hisle. She attended Seton High School and graduated in 1979.

She took a position as Secretary at Midland on Pete Rose Way in 1986.  She then went to Halevan and Associates as an Office Manager in January 1988.  

 Donna joined the City of Cincinnati on September 29, 1991. On December 14, 1997, she transferred as a Clerk Typist 3 to Police Communications Section. CT3 Bowling transferred on January 21, 2001 to the District 1 Timekeeper position. She was promoted to Administrative Technician on September 29, 2013 and assigned as administrative assistant to the Investigative Unit Commander. She also served in that capacity in the Patrol and Administration Bureau. By April 2023, she had served the community for 30 years.

While serving her last post in the Patrol Bureau, AT Bowling suffered the deaths of her children in 2019 and 2020, and her husband in 2022. She suffered her own maladies during 2022 and after months in ICU, she passed away on April 9, 2023, at the age of 61. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bowling; daughter, Heather Bowling, and son, Brent Bowling. Donna is survived by her siblings, Joyce (late Jack) Stranzin, Richard (Brandi) Hisle and Donald (Becky) Hisle; brother-in-law, Richard (Tina) Bowling; and father-in-law, George (late Mary Lou) Bowling. 

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Homes West Side Chapel at 3300 Parkcrest Lane. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Bridgetown Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made in memory of Donna and her family to Alstrom Syndrome International, 14 Whitney Farm Road, Mt. Desert, ME (04660) or Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati (45242).
