Bob was born February 15, 1946, in Mariemont to Bernard and Margaret (Anderson) Bruns. His family moved to Moores Hill, Indiana when he was 12 years old. He started working at the age of 14.
He married Suzanne Beatty on March 6, 1965.
Bob served as a police officer in the 1970s and again in the 1980s with Suzanne as a Deputy.
He also drove a truck across the nation for many years and retired from Conway CCX in 2008.
Officer Bruns volunteered to help build the Moores Hill’s Park playground, Moores Hill Fire Department, and Milan School’s playground. He also ran “Po’ Man’s Garage” from his home garage with his sons.
Officer Bruns was a member of F & AM Lodge #346 of North Bend, the Moores Hill and Sparta Fire Departments, and the CB Helping Hands Club.
Officer Burns died on February 28, 2022 at the age of 76.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bruns earlier this month and other siblings, Bill Bruns, Jean Bruns, and Janet Bonnlander. Officer Bruns is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Suzanne (Beatty) Bruns; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Robert (Mary) Bruns, Jr., Tammy (Tommy) Caldwell, Steven (Debra) Bruns, Eric Bruns (Christine Flaherty), Robby Bruns lll, Hannah Bruns, Jessica Caldwell, Amanda Villines, Tyler (Steph) Fuchs, Austin (Darby) Bruns, Sawyer Bruns, Rebecca Hensley, Emily Herbert, Logan Fuchs, and Elliott Bruns; and siblings, Mike (Marlena) Bruns and Pat Bonnlander.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 4, 2022.
Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to Moores Hill Fire Department and the Moores Hill Life Squad.
