Detective Richard Voris Usher (1970 – 2022)

Rich was born July 4, 1970 to Richard Calvin and Connie Rose (Cornell) Usher.  He attended Oak Hills High School and graduated in 1988.

He then joined the United State Army and was honorably discharged.

Rich then joined the Sharonville Police Department as a Police Officer in 1994.  He worked as a Patrol Officer, Scarlet Oaks School Resource Officer, Detective, Bike Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Female Self-Protection Instructor.  He was also a founding member of the Sharonville Police Honor Guard.  Detective Usher retired in 2019 with 25 years of service.

Detective Usher was diagnosed with cancer.  After a long, courageous battle, he died on January 17, 2022 at the age of 51.

He is predeceased by his father and survived by his wife, Erica (Shackelford) Usher; mother, Connie Rose Knight; children, Savannah, Valencia, Ziona, Macleagan, and Gansen; and siblings, Paul Edward Usher, Zachary James Usher, Michael Hubert Usher.
