Deputy William Edward Moore (1951-2022)

Bill was born September 25, 1951 in Cincinnati to William and Betty Jean (Taylor) Moore.  He attended Ross High School and the University of Cincinnati and earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

In 1972, Bill joined the United States Air Force Reserves.  He was honorably discharged in 1978.

Bill worked as a security officer for General Electric for many years.

Bill joined the Butler County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff.  No records could be found, but we believe he was appointed before 1981 and retired about 1985 with decades of service to his country and community.

Deputy Moore was a member of Hamilton Masonic Lodge #719 F&AM, the Hamilton York Rite, and the Cincinnati Shrine.

Deputy Moore died at The Villages in Leesburg, Florida February 23, 2022 at the age of 70.  He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Patricia Nelson.

A visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Charles C. Young Funeral Home at 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road in Ross.  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery in Ross.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
