Jim was born August 9, 1967 in Georgetown, Ohio to Donald Leroy and Norma Lee (Mock) Kirker.
Jim joined the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff during 1998. He served as a Corrections Officer until 2000 when he moved to the Road Patrol. During 2014, he trained and worked as a Canine Officer. From 2016, he was assigned to Washington Township. By the end of 2021, he had served the County for 23 years.
Deputy Kirker also worked for the Mt. Orab and Sardinia Fire Departments, was a youth sports coach, and was active in the Brown County Junior Fair.
Deputy Kirker contracted COVID and died, surrounded by family, at Bethesda North Hospital on January 11, 2022 at the age of 54.
He was predeceased by his father and a son, James Logan Kirker. Deputy Kirker is survived by his mother; children, Paige (Ben) Hoop, Tyler (Byra) Jimison, Trevor (Catherine) Jimison, Zachary Kirker, and Grant Kirker; grandson, Renley Hoop; and sibling, Marcia (Gary) Roger, Donna (Michael) Gorham, Bette (David) Dailey, Christi Kirker, and Tommy (Megan) Kirker.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Sardinia Church of Christ at 7130 Bachman Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 with Pastor Brett Parker officiating. Burial will follow at the Sardinia Cemetery.
