Patrolman William P. “Bill” Plance

Bill was born November 3, 1938 to William Edgar and Ruth Plance.  He attended Purcell High School graduating in 1956.  During 1965 he also attended night school at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in industrial management.

He joined the United States Army Reserve on March 5, 1961.  After Basic Training and Clerical School he did six months of active duty.  Sergeant Plance was honorably discharged January 31, 1967.

He joined the Cincinnati Police Division as a Police Recruit on June 8, 1967.  He finished fifth in his class and was promoted to Patrolman on September 10, 1967, issued Badge 384, and assigned to District 7 (813 Beecher Street).  Two years later, on August 24, 1969, he resigned for other employment.

then worked as a Sales Manager for Central Steel & Wire Company until his retirement.

Patrolman Plance, age 82, passed away on August 18, 2021.

He was predeceased by his wife Jane L. (Klein) Plance.  Patrolman Plance is survived by his children, Lisa Hamann and David Plance; grandchildren, Latisha, Kathryn, Alexandra, Claire, Noah, and Sophie; and sister, Mary Brierly.

Services for Bill will be held at a later date to be determined.
