Deputy Sheriff Leonard E. Rankle

Len was born May 2, 1933 in Dayton, Kentucky to Eugene “Walter” and Margaret (Rhinehart) Rankle.

Len joined the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office as a Court Security Officer on February 16, 2002. He continued to serve through December 31, 2007.

Deputy Rankle also volunteered several years with the Dayton Fire Department.

He worked for and retired from Federated Department Stores

Deputy Rankle passed away on April 25, 2019 at the Villa Springs Care Center in Erlanger. He was 85.

He was predeceased by his son, Ken Rankle. Deputy Rankle is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Nancy Rankle; children, Jim (Dowana) Rankle and Cheryl Scott; stepson, Tom (April) Forman; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Susan Rankle.

Visitation will be held 10 to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home at 241 Fairfield Avenue in Bellevue. A funeral service will follow at Noon.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St. Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
