Deputy Leland Edward Polley
Leland was born August 23, 1947 to Edward and Annabelle Polley.
He joined the United States Army, served during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart.
He then joined the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff.
He then opened a security company, Kentucky Security Police.
In retirement, Deputy Polley drove a special needs school bus. He was a member of the Crescent Springs Church of God.
Deputy Polley died on October 30, 2019 in Fort Thomas at the age of 72.
He was predeceased by his parents and children, Amanda Wilson, Chad Polley, and Christopher Flanigan. Deputy Polley is survived by his wife of twenty years, Anita Kay Polley; children, James Polley and Kimberly Williams; siblings, Gordon (Carolee) Polley and Rose Mary Trapp; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home at 11 East Southern Avenue in Covington. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. An additional visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Pleasant Run Church on Pleasant Run Church Road in Pine Knott. A funeral service will be held at Noon. Interment will follow in Lester Lovitt Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
