Deputy Kenneth R. Schnur
Ken was born November 13, 1940. He attended Elder High School and graduated in 1959.
Ken joined the Hamilton County Sheriff Department as a recruit on August 30, 1963 and began working on the road patrol as a Deputy on Labor Day of that year. During 1964, he was working in the Green and Colerain Townships area. He continued with them until at least 1970.
He married Carole A. Filippine during March 1965 at a ceremony officiated by her brother, Fr. John Filippine, at St. Catharine Church in Westwood.
He also worked as a medical sales executive and as a Deacon at St. John the Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his grandson, John Matthew McGarvey, and brother, Frank Schnur. Deputy Schnur is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carole, A. (Filippine) Schnur; children, Ken (Becky) Schnur and Beth (Jeff) McGarvey; and grandchildren, James Schner, Luke Schnur, Caitlin McGarvey, Holly McGarvey, and Sam McGarvey.
Ken passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the age of 79.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church, 5361 Dry Ridge Road. At Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon.
Donations may be made to St. John Church or the school.
