Deputy Robert Allen McDonald

Robert was born June 20, 1942 to Edward and Evelyn (Steltenpohl) McDonald

Robert joined the United States Marine Corps in 1961.  He was honorably discharged in 1965.

Robert joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff.  He retired.

He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 113.

Deputy McDonald died October 12, 2020 at the age of 78.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Joan (Joe) Blevins, Audrey (Richard) Johnson, and Edward Gerald McDonald.  Deputy McDonald is survived by his brothers, James (Donna) McDonald and William McDonald; sister-in-law Marilyn McDonald; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held (COVID precautions applicable) 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Brater-Winter Funeral Home at 201 South Vine Street in Harrison.  An FOP service will be held at 6:45 p.m.  He will also be honored with bagpipes and a Greater Cincinnati Police Museum recitation of The Final Inspection.

  1. Bob McDonald was a fine patrolman and was always quick to teach me as a young patrolman.He was tuff as nails also.He was a man I could always be proud to call a friend.My condolences to his family.Please rest in peace Mac!!! J.J.
