Captain William Floyd Cronin

Bill was born August 21, 1950 in Cincinnati to Robert and Aurelia Cronin.

He joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office about 1970.  He was promoted through the ranks to Captain until 1999 when he left with almost thirty years of service to the County.

Captain Cronin was also a member of the Goodtimers social club.

Captain Cronin died on October 15, 2020 at the age of 70.

He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Schwegler, and brothers-in-law, Floyd King and Kenneth “Shorty” Schibi.  Captain Cronin is survived by his wife of twenty years, Kathy Cronin; children, former Hamilton County Deputy Rob (Lori) Cronin, Dan (Kimberly) Cronin, Bryan (Christina) Kirkpatrick, Brandon Kirkpatrick, and Erin Cronin; grandchildren, Cory Surber, Casey Cronin, Connor Cronin, Alyssa Snyder, Ashleigh Cronin, Alexandra Cronin, Alanah Kirkpatrick, and Aiden Kirkpatrick, great-grandson, Owen Snyder; and siblings, Rose Schibi, Betty King, Bob (Margie) Cronin, and Mike (Patty) Cronin.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 2155 Compton Road (Follow the blue line to the funeral home.) and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 5361 Dry Ridge Road.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon.  Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
