Lieutenant Stanley C. Wellbrock Jr. (1957-2018)
Stan was born March 18, 1957 to Stanley C. and Joan M. (Miller) Wellbrock Sr. He attended Saint Catharine of Sienna Grade School and La Salle High School and was a participant in track and a star football player. He graduated from La Salle in 1975.
Stan joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office during May 1980 as a Corrections Officer. After a couple of years he was assigned to road patrol and by 1991 was promoted to Corporal. By 1993 he was a Sergeant, and before 1998 a Lieutenant. While a Lieutenant, the Sheriff assigned him to some special projects, one of which was the County-wide Capias Task Force for which the presiding judge issued a letter of commendation. Lieutenant Wellbrock retired during June 2005 with 25 years of service.
He then served as a supervisor of the security department at the University of Cincinnati Psychiatric Unit on Burnet Avenue.
Lieutenant Wellbrock passed away suddenly on September 26, 2018 at the age of 61.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard Farner. Lieutenant Wellbrock is survived by his parents; wife of 31 years, Vicki L. (Leiman) Wellbrock; children, Erik (Olivia) Wellbrock; stepchildren, Lance Roberts and Dustin Roberts; grandchildren, Lance Roberts, Jr., Jordan Roberts, Jadelynn Roberts, Jasmine Roberts, Dakota Roberts, and Lillian Wellbrock; and siblings, Paula Farner, Barbara Wellbrock Myles, Raymond (Melvenia) Wellbrock, Vincent (Meghan) Wellbrock, and Robert (Kateryn) Wellbrock.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home at 10385 New Haven Road in Harrison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison.
