“Preserving the History of Law Enforcement in the Greater Cincinnati Area”

Carol joined the Fairfield Police Department on June 1, 1993.  She served as a patrol officer, DARE Officer, and Detective during her stint there.  She resigned August 17, 2001 to pursue other employment.

On May 2, 2005, she reentered law enforcement as a Corrections Officer for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.  On September 13, 2007, she was promoted to Corrections Sergeant.

By 2018, she had served her Fairfield and Butler County for 21 years.  Sheriff Jones described her as “one of my hardest working employees who is loved by everyone she supervised and worked side by side with” and “passionate about her career in law enforcement and corrections.”

During the late afternoon of May 12, 2018, Sergeant Seals was riding her new three-wheel Can Am motorcycle outside her daughter’s Jefferson Township residence.  As she left the driveway, she crossed Gettysburg Darke Road and struck a concrete block barn and suffered severe head injuries.  She was airlifted by a MedFlight medical helicopter to Kettering Medical Center.

Sergeant Seals passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2018 at the age of 54.
