Park Ranger Clarence W. “Clancy” Betzner, Jr. (1935-2018)

Clarence was born March 26, 1935 to orthopedic surgeon and nurse, Dr. Clarence W. and Esther (Bluett) Betzner of Mt. Healthy.  He attended Mt. Healthy High School where he played basketball, played trumpet in the band, sang in a quartet, and participated in many other extracurricular activities.  He graduated in 1952.

A former engineer of General Electric, he switched careers and became a Park Ranger for the Hamilton County Park District; from which he retired.

Ranger Betzner, surrounded by his family, died on September 22, 2018 at the age 83.

He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Potter-Betzner.  Ranger Betzner is survived by this daughter, Lynne (James) Jones; granddaughters, Stephanie (Jonathan) Magrisso and Jamie (Casey) Morton; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elliott, Lucy Morton and Miles Magrisso..

A graveside service was held on October 4, 2018, at Spring Grove Cemetery.

In Clancy’s memory donations can be made to Hospice of Hamilton.
