Sergeant John M. “J.Q.” Qualters (1939-2018)
John was born March 24, 1939 to John F. and Hilda (Baudendistel) Qualters. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School.
About 1957, he joined the United States Army as the Vietnam conflict was at its initial stages. He was honorably discharged about 1961.
John joined the University of Cincinnati Police Department on August 27, 1973. He retired as a Sergeant June 30, 2000 with 31 years of service to his country and the University.
He passed away on July 29, 2018 at the age 79.
Sergeant Qualters is survived by his wife, Linda C. (McGinnis) Qualters; children, Carrie Qualters and Sean (Tiffany) Qualters; grandchildren, Alexis and Madden; and siblings, Patty Taylor, Kenneth Qualters and Michael Qualters.
Visitation was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Bethel. Funeral services, including an F.O.P. service, were held at 11 a.m. A graveside service, with military honors, was held at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Memory Gardens in Wilmington.
