Emmett was born in Middletown on December 23, 1944 to the late Burl Harris and Virginia Terry.
Emmett joined the Middletown Police Department in the 1960s. He successfully participated in Middletown’s 320-hour Police Training Program in 1967. On Sunday, June 15, 1975, Officers Terry and Theodore Marsh broke down the door of a burning apartment and saved the trapped and burned resident. Officer Terry retired from Middletown.
Officer Terry passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Age 73.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Lee Terry, and brother, Gary Terry. He is survived by his daughters, Connie (Timothy Gregg) Terry and Julie Gannon; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Billy Terry and David (Bev) Terry.
Private services will be held at the family’s discretion.
