John joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on April 7, 1983 as a Corrections Officer and was eventually promoted to Sergeant. He then transferred to the Court Services Division and worked in the Fugitive Warrant Section. He then transferred to Court Liaison Officer. He resigned November 11, 1999 with 16 years of service.
Sergeant Snowden suffered a fatal heart attack on February 19, 2018.
Sergeant Snowden is predeceased by his father; a son, William David Snowden, and his sister, Linda St. Clair. He is survived by his mother; wife, Donna (Honaker) Snowden; children, Douglas Snowden, Earl (Andi) Skjoldager, Brandy Snowden, Theresa Bush, and John Snowden, Jr.; grandchildren, Elijah, Joshua, Megan, Stephen, and Dalton; brother, retired Cincinnati Police Chief Michael C. (Carol) Snowden; and brother-in-law Michael St. Clair.
Visitation will be held 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Webster Funeral Home in Fairfield. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. by Pastor Lucas McSurley.
