“Preserving the History of Law Enforcement in the Greater Cincinnati Area”
Steve Watt , bagpiper, officer, and friend, was recently the victim of a senseless crime wherein his pride and joy, his bagpipes, were stolen. During an all out investigative effort they were subsequently recovered with some slight damage. While Steve’s pipes could be replaced, the memories they shared could not be. Unfortunately his many pins, notes, and other items of significance were lost.
Steve has been a fixture for many years at not only Law Enforcement Officer’s Funerals, but also family members , Police, Sheriff, and FOP events. When the theft described above first came to light, the first thought anyone had was that Steve never says no when asked to perform in a ceremonial role. He incurs various expenses for each appearance including gas, food, uniform maintenance, and more. He refuses any compensation to help defray these costs.
Dan Hils – FOP #69 President, met with Steve after the recovery and ask what could be done to say thank you and show appreciation for his volunteer service. He was also asked if he would like a get-away vacation for himself and his family. As word of this idea spread it was thought a little R&R for this Warrior was in order so that he could kick back, ease the spirit, and decompress. A fund (Steve the Saint Account) was established at the Cincinnati Police Credit Union. If you would like to donate, you may do so at:
